I swear every week Ryder says or does something new. He is changing so much so fast! I just posted a while back about things he says and just since then he has been saying so much more and I HAVE to document it because it is hilarious and cute.
Everytime I ask him to do something now he will say, "Alright! Alright! Fine!" Even though it's kind of an attitude it makes me laugh.
Last week I was trying to get him dressed to go out and he was NOT cooperating. Well Jon was home to see what I have to go through on a daily basis trying to get Ryder out the door so he grabbed Ryder's hand, walked him over to me, and gave him a really light kick to the butt. Ryder half-giggled, half scolded, "Dosh... a MEAN!" (which if you couldn't figure it out means, "Gosh... you're mean!") I was like, "Did you hear what he just said?" Jon just answered, "Yes. If he was 5 I would be all over him for that but he's only 2 and it just sounds so cute." We both laughed.
Every night at bedtime Ryder wants one of us to sing him a song before leaving his room. Well, the only song Jon really knows to sing is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Just yesterday I heard Ryder sing, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star... how I wonder what you are." That's all he knows but it was SO CUTE to hear him sing an actual song! He can also sing, "Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go."
There is a book of rhymes that I read to Ryder sometimes and this is his favorite one:
Once I saw a little bird hop, hop, hop
And I cried, "Oh little bird. Stop! Stop! Stop!"
I was going to the window just to say, "How do you do?"
But he shook his little tail and away he flew.
It has actions to go with it and he can say most of the rhyme and do the actions. It's the cutest.
He calls himself Ry Ry, which is his nickname given to him by his Aunt Sonia.
Once in a while he calls me Larkie, which is my nickname.
Sometimes he calls Jon.... Jon. HAHA! It is not right, but very funny. Jon doesn't like it though. He wants to be called daddy.
He loves to say, "Shake your booty!" in this really weird yoda voice and shake his hips.
When Ryder comes to the Dr. with me for my prenatal check-ups, he just sits and observes everything so quietly. The nurse will have me lay down and listen to the baby's heartbeat and when she leaves, Ryder wants to get up on the table and lift up his shirt and have ME find a heartbeat in HIS belly. He says there is a baby in there. HAHA!
When we are at the Stowells' house and it's time to go home, Ryder FREAKS! He will run back into one of the bedrooms, jump on the bed, and lay down and close his eyes. It cracks us up every time. He also loves to pull this little stool over to the desk where Barb keeps candy and when nobody is looking he will steal some.
The other night Barb introduced Ryder to Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang. Ryder LOVES old musical type movies. He would rather watch real people than cartoons and he loves music. Well there is a scene where people are dancing around with poles. Barb gave Ryder a lacrosse stick without the head so he had his own little pole. He was copying all the dance moves and we were almost peeing our pants. He even did a somersault while holding the stick. I was impressed.
He is still obsessed with motorcycles, trains, bikes, pretty much anything with wheels. Jon loves that about him. We have decided that Ryder likes motorcycles more than Jon, which we never thought possible.
Ryder is our pride and joy and so much fun. I can't wait to see what kind of personality Kendra has.
