More pics of our lil' guy

Ryder was 3 weeks old yesterday. He is growing so BIG! He was born 9 lbs, but when I took him to the pediatrician 2 days later, he had dropped to 8 lbs, 1 oz. They told me that was normal and had me set up a 2 week check up. When I took him in last week he still only weighed 8 lbs, 9 oz. I was told to start supplementing formula after I breastfeed him (which sounded good to me because I felt like every time I fed him he was still hungry) and then bring him in for a weight check in one week. I decided to pump once just to see how much I was producing and it turns out he was only getting 3 oz out of me at every feeding. That's not enough for a boy as big as him. So for the past week I have been giving him anywhere from 1-3 oz of formula after breastfeeding, which has completely changed the way he sleeps. Now in the night he will only wake up to eat and then goes right back to sleep after his bottle. It's been GREAT! So today I took him in for a weight check and even the nurse was in shock. He weighed 10 lbs, 2 oz!!!! That means he gained 25 oz in 8 days. The nurse had me put him on two different scales because she didn't think it was right. Both scales read the same. So I left thinking everything was great. Then I get a call from the office and they tell me that the dr looked over his weight check and wants me to stop giving him formula and strictly breastfeed because he gained a LOT of weight really fast. I told them that was going to be really tough because after every time I breastfeed him, he cries and tries to suck on his hands because he is still hungry and I don't want to make him go without nourishment if he's hungry. They said they would need to discuss it more and call me back. When the did, they decided that I should keep doing my routine, but now I have to take him in again next week to check his weight. If he has gained too much again, they are going to have to try and evaluate why he is not satisfied after I feed him. My question is, how is he going to evaluate that? Watch me breastfeed and then watch Ryder's reaction afterward? Hmm.....I guess we will see.

Baby Photoshoot

My sister Sonia came over and busted out her camera on Ryder. She got the funniest pictures of him I had to post them. We were laughing so hard I literally almost wet myself (one of the many lovely things you experience with childbirth - loss of bladder control). Anyways, he is such a smart baby. He already knows how to do "the claw", flash the peace sign, flirt, and pledge allegiance to the flag. See the pictures for proof! I love you, Ryder!!!

AT LAST! My love has come along.

Ryder is here! He was born at 5:04am on February 6th, which is also my sister Sonia's birthday. He was 9 lbs and 20.5 inches long...a HUGE baby. It makes so much sense now why I was so dang uncomfortable all the time. I was carrying a toddler! Just kidding. Jon and I love him SO much it's crazy. The many feelings you get when you have a child are hard to describe but I know all you moms know what I'm saying. Jon is such an awesome dad. He takes good care of Ryder. Last night was our first night home and I was lucky enough to get about 6 hours of sleep thanks to Jon. He is so good at helping me out when I need him. I had lots of visitors in the hospital and I have the best friends and family in the whole world! My mom has been at my house since 8am and she is still here 11 hours later! I am so lucky to have so much help. Well, here are some pictures of Ryder for anyone who hasn't seen him yet. I love my boys!

Diary of a Mad Pregnant Woman

By mad I mean crazy. I am going crazy. Ryder is due tomorrow. I hope he comes today because if he's not here by tomorrow morning I'm gonna be going into work. That would just be cruel and unusual punishment. Here are a few other reasons why I want him out NOW!
1. I don't want to have to sit through 3 hours of church today. It's just too uncomfortable.
2. I don't want to watch the super bowl. I hate football.
3. I think I found a stretch mark last night. I really thought I was never gonna get one.
4. My ribs feel like they are broken. These braxton hicks are killing me and it sure ain't softly.
5. I'm really sick of people saying, "You're still here!!!"
Yes people, I am obviously here and still pregnant and it doesn't keep my spirits up when I have a constant reminder that I'm still fat and uncomfortable. Anyways, today is just a really frustrating day for me. I know two girls that had my same due date and they both already had their babies a week ago. Life is so unfair sometimes.
