Mr. Independent

For a while now Ryder has been doing pretty well at sitting up in his highchair and bumbo chair. He always sits up real straight and doesn't wobble too much. However, I never thought to actually put him on the floor to see if he could sit by himself. I mean I've tried a couple times before but he couldn't do it at all so I just thought it would be a long time before he could do it himself. Yesterday we were at Jon's parents' house just hanging out and Jon decided to set Ryder down to sit on the floor. He didn't fall over!!! In fact he sat there for quite a while before he fell backwards. I was so surprised! He was sitting so well and I had no idea he could do it. He's probably been waiting forever for me to realize it. He doesn't really like laying on his back to play anymore. I posted a video below of him sitting and playing in his room. It's kinda long but I am just so proud of how long he can sit there. At the end he tumbles over but I promise he didn't even cry. I won't lie though...he did fall about 4 times before I shot the video and one of the times he hit his head on the wicker basket behind him. Yeah, he cried a little. The other pictures are Ryder with his daddy who he loves SO much. Don't mind the nipples picture...it is just my favorite. They are my twin thugs :) Tonight I was feeding Ryder and Jon came home from work and all he had to do was smile and Ryder just started giggling at him. I can't get him to giggle like Jon can. I love to watch them play though. They are such boys!

Grandma's Babysitting Services

Here are some pictures of Ryder being babysat by his Grandma Gigi! From the day Ryder was born my mom has been calling him "piano fingers" because he has always had super abnormally long fingers for a baby. Here are pictures of him taking piano lessons from his grandma. Below are pictures of him in his big boy highchair and bumbo watching some tv. He loves his grandma!! Whenever we go over there, Grandma Gigi smiles and talks to him and he gets the biggest smile on his face and gets all shy. It's so funny.

Okay so I found out The Hills premiere is August 18th at 10pm. If you look under my favorite sites in the right column, click on The Hills link and you can watch the NEW trailer for Season 4. It's gonna be soooooo good!!! I'm super excited. All I can say is Lauren continues to get screwed over by her friends....I wonder why??? Hmmm....

Caved!

Okay so I lied when I said I was getting rid of MySpace for good. So many people have made fun of me for having one and when Ryder was born I figured I'd be too busy for it (plus I was getting super addicted) and decided to be a Blogger instead. Well I was doing fine and not missing it at all and then recently I realized that I was missing out on keeping in touch with so many friends from high school, work, and a friend that I've known since I was 3!! Therefore, I have plunged back into the MySpace world. I'm going to try to limit myself so that I don't become super addicted again. I must say it's a lot easier to search for people you know on MySpace than on Blogger. You should be able to search people's names or SOMETHING rather than just happen to find them on someone else's blog. Anyways...hello again, MySpace!

Obsession

If I could I would completely throw out everything in my closet and just re-vamp my entire wardrobe. I am obsessed with clothes lately because I just don't have extra cash right now to buy any. My new wardrobe would include the following:

Overworked and Underpaid

I wasn't really sure how to title this post. Last night Jon asked me to help him with an essay on foreign investments (which I know nothing about) that is due in his summer school English 102 class tonight. It has to be 6-8 pages long and he hadn't even STARTED! AHHH! That's my procrastinator! So we kinda had a busy day yesterday but I assured him that we would work on it and at least get half of it done even if we had to stay up until midnight. Why I made this promise I have no clue because when we finally sat down to work on it at 9:30 I thought I was gonna pass out. Well we did get it half done after much brainfarting and hysterical laughing at the B.S. we can come up with. So midnight comes and we go to bed and can I just say that I am an awesome wife for staying up so late to help my husband with homework when my lil' bug was gonna be waking up 5 1/2 hours later!!! Don't mind if I do. So anyways I'm just layin there sleepin minding my own business when all of a sudden I am woken out of a DEEP sleep by Jon who RIPS my covers off and starts SLAPPING me!!! After a few seconds of beat down I realize that he is doing it in his sleep! I felt like I was screaming his name to try and wake him up but he would not wake up. He continued to slap me followed by pushing me out of bed onto the floor and slapping me more!!! I just kept yelling and yelling and then FINALLY he stopped and grabbed me and just started laughing!!! I was so pissed I pushed him and then jumped into bed and couldn't help but just start balling my eyes out. I had never been so rudely awakened or so terrified of Jon in our whole marriage. He calmed down and turned the light on trying to comfort me but I couldn't stop the waterworks. When I calmed down I looked at the clock and it was 3am. I had only been asleep 3 hours and didn't know HOW I could possibly fall back asleep. Then I looked at Jon who had the most puzzled look on his face and he asked me, "What just happened?" I said, "Are you kidding me? You just tried to beat the crap outta me in your sleep!" He just giggled and said, "I was trying to get the snakes off you." I said, "Jon, there were NO snakes on me. I was sleeping." He said, "I had a dream that you had snakes and spiders crawling all over you and I was trying to get them off of you." Wow. So I sacrifice time and sleep and THIS is how he repays me? If anyone knows how to cure sleepwalking I'm the most open-minded person in the world right now.

5 Months!!! And other good stuff too!

Jon is so talented. He built this poker table from an old rickety table that was falling apart.

Okay so I know that it looks like all Ryder does is sit in his swing but a lot of times he looks so cute in it and I can get the perfect angle on him. He really only sits in that swing when he watches baby einstein. The batteries are dead but it's a perfect little recliner for him :) Anyways, Ryder turned 5 months old yesterday! He is soooo big. I'm sure by his check-up next month he'll be over 20 pounds. But I can wait for that check-up because he'll have to get more shots :( He is starting to roll over now. Hasn't quite mastered it and still needs a little help but my mom saw him do it all by himself. I'm sad I missed it. I thought he was NEVER gonna roll because he just has so much weight to shift around. Speaking of shifting...I will put him near the foot of his crib on his tummy for a nap and when he wakes up I will go to get him and find him at the HEAD of the bed in the corner trying to find a way out! HA! It's so funny. He is such a scooter!! He sits in his highchair without a blanket for support (the picture above is kinda old) and he eats baby food twice a day now. He likes pretty much everything I've given him, but he seems to really spit up the sweet potatoes too much. So I'm not gonna be giving those to him anymore even though they taste like CANDY! And yes....he is still a puker. AHH! I can't wait for it all to end. I've never seen a baby spit up so much. It's impossible to keep either of our clothes nice. I swear he pukes the most when I have him in a super cute outfit. His Dr. said he will probably stop spitting up when he is 9 months old. So basically this will go on for 4+ more months. Ryder is also discovering his voice and likes to belt out really high-pitched squeals. It's pretty cute but sometimes I just wanna put him on mute! On another note, Ryder slept for 11 hours straight last night....again. It's been a few weeks since he did that and it happens once in a blue moon, but he was so tired he conked out. It was so nice to put him down at 8pm and wake up with him at 7am rather than wake up at 5am, feed him, put him back down, then go back to bed. I hate doing that. I'd rather wake up at 7 and just be up for the day and there's no way I will get up for the day at 5am. No siree. So that is the latest with us. I just love my family :)

2. So...kinda gross but I really want to get a breast augmentation someday so I've been looking at that on the internet a lot thanks to Sara :)

3 Random surprising facts about myself:
1. I was born in Hong Kong, China. People NEVER believe me when I tell them this like it's impossible to be born out of the country. I have the birth certificate to prove it. Although the funny thing about my birth certificate is that it's written in Chinese characters so when I went on our cruise they didn't wanna let me back in the states because they couldn't even read it.
2. I have two different earlobes. One that is attached, one that isn't. :)
3. I am terrified of heights. I like most rollercoasters but if they are too high up in the air (Goliath at Six Flags) I almost hyperventilate.

Breaking Dawn

So I know I am totally behind the times but I just BARELY finished Eclipse this morning. I had started it almost a year ago, got about half way through, got distracted (and kinda bored) and never finished it. So i decided to start over from the beginning and read the whole thing through without taking any long breaks to distract me from it. I still got bored about halfway through the book but I trudged through and I'm glad I did. Now I'm absolutely dying because I want to read Breaking Dawn so bad. It comes out exactly one month from today people!!!! I'm sure everyone already knows that and has been counting down the days much longer than I have. But hey.....okay I have no comeback. 30 days!!!!!

Also coming next month for those who may not be interested in the Twilight series...a new season of The Hills!!! YAY!
